No One Can Ever Know

by Chris Lawlor

One Week Writer's Challenge: Prompt #1

No one can ever know what it is like to see man, the pinnacle of your creation, become the master of your destruction.

No one can ever know what it is like to see man, the one created in your image, seek to destroy that image in his brothers and sisters.

No one can ever know what it's like to humble yourself, to be born among humankind and made subject to the law, both of which you created.

No one can ever know what it's like to live perfectly according to the law so that law breakers could be forgiven and set free.

No one can ever know what it is like to so love an enemy that you would take their punishment for them.

No one can ever know what it's like to be both just and the justifier of the unrighteous.

No one can ever know what it's like to be loved and adored by friends who were once your enemies.

No one can ever know what it's like to see your image redeemed and restored to humanity.

No one can ever know but God.
